In recognition of their notable achievements in Niger Delta region, a multi-media organisation has selected Gov. Nyeson wike of River State as the Man of year 2020 Award, Joi Nunieh as Woman of the year 2020 Award, Okowa, Omo-Agege, Timipre, Diri honoured with wonderful Awards.
This was made known by Mr. Jacob Abai, the Publisher of GbaramatuVoice, through a statement issued on Wednesday in Lagos, stating that his victory came after over 100 candidates shortlisted for the award where thoroughly examined by the poll which was conducted by the newspaper across the Niger Delta region.
“After a strenuous scrutiny by members of the public, especially Niger Deltans, over 100 persons were nominated for the different awards of which the nominees were toughly sieved,”
“It was a herculean task to come to the point that Governor Wike of Rivers State was chosen for the Niger Delta Man of the Year by members of the public” while maintaining that Gov. Wike deserved the award as chosen by the public for his effort towards the development of Niger Delta regions.
“The public agreed that Wike deserves the award given his selfless and fearless efforts for the emancipation and development of the Niger Delta at a time like this when supposed leaders in the Niger Delta seemed cowed to speak out,” he said.
Speaking further he said that Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta won the Niger Delta Best Governor of the Year (Skill/Human Capital Mobility) Award, while Gov. Douye Diri of Bayelsa emerged Niger Delta Man of the Moment, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, the Deputy Senate President also emerged as Niger Delta Senator/Politician of the Year while Dr Joi Bariyimebe Nunieh, a former Acting Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission ( (NDDC) emerged as Niger Delta Woman of the Year, as Chief Timipre Sylva, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources won Niger Delta Most Outstanding Minister of the Year.
