Monday, 17th of August was a day never to be forgotten in a jiffy due to the remarkable experiences the Indonesians had as the dead bodies of family members that had been buried for many years, now resurfaced.
This is a festival known as Ma’nene, usually done once in a year in Toraja area of Indonesia where deceased families are to dig out the corpse of their loved ones from the grave and celebrate with them.

As the culture of Toraja demands according to “FactWacts report”, the dead will be taken out of their coffin, cleaned and given a new set of clothes.

Relatives from far and wide come to celebrate Ma’nene, feasting, swapping stories and honouring the deceased as they(the dead) are offered food, water, cigarette or some other interesting hobbies they (the dead) love doing while still alive.

The Indonesians from Toraja believe that the spirit of the dead is still very close to them and it craves for care.

It would be of note that these bodies are often being preserved by preservatives.
