A black Sunday it was for indigenes of Awka most especially students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Ifite Campus as the manager of Farouz Bar/Event Center, Onwudinjo Anthony was shot dead within the Ifite School Gate axis of UNIZIK, Awka, Anambra State.

Reports have it that he was shot dead at the late hours of Sunday, 18th of April 2020 by a stray bullet from a moving vehicle suspected to be gang of cultists but a reliable source who pleaded anonymity said Onwudinjo Anthony was shot four(4) times at a close range before the gang of the suspected cultists departed after confirming his lifelessness.

The issues that ensued between the manager and these suspected cultists leading to his death are yet to be unravelled.

Similarly on the same day but at different time interval, another death whose corpse was identified as Nwandu (according to indigenes at the scene) was also recorded at the UNIZIK TEMPORARY SITE, popularly known a UNIZIK-Junction resulting from an attack by some suspected cultists as bullet wounds and some machete wounds were seen in some parts of his body with blood flowing out from the vibrant looking lifeless young man.

As many questions were emanating from indigenes at the scene on the where about of “Anti-cult”, (a security body set up to look into cultism and other criminal matters for the safety of the University Community and her students) amidst these sad occurrences, GGB reporters gathered that the activities of the” AntiCult” have been skeletal and inconsistent since the year began which is grossly unusual of them.
While tensions are on the air, students and indigenes within Awka area of Anambra State are advised to stay safe as effort to get reactions from the Nigeria Police Force concerning this incident is still on going as at the time of filing this report.
