The photo of a Man in Port Harcourt area of River State surfaced online while sleeping inside a round-tight culvert under an unfinished bridge in broad daylight.

From reports gathered online, it was said that the unidentified man has been sleeping under the bridge in that same condition for some weeks ago and in countless cases had been approached by some passersby but he always give reasons of no accommodation as factor leading to the sad condition.

Confirming this photo, a facebook user said when he was living for work very early in the morning some days back in Port Harcourt, he saw a man dark in complexion (probably this same man) pulling out matrass from one of the culvert under the the flyover but never knew if that was where he slept not until his photo surfaced online.

As seen in the picture, the Nigerian man was snapped while still sleeping in broad daylight inside a round-tight culvert containing matrass and pillow located under a bridge in Port Harcourt area of River State.

Reactions have trailed the air as many are still in shock if things like this still go on in Nigeria. Others are also in doubt whether the photo is from Nigeria.

Those who actually cleared the doubt, attributed this same living condition to some states in Nigeria like Lagos, Abuja, Enugu among many others, saying it is a normal happenings in almost all the 36 states within the country.

It would be of note that, while many Nigerians expressed disappointment on leadership and the government at large for inability to care for citizens and to also put things in place to enhance the standard of living of her citizenry, few advised that Nigerians should work hard to make life better for themselves.

Therefore, we urge the Nigeria government to help locate this man seen in viral photo, take him for a medical check up and give him necessary support needed.

The Federal Ministry of Aviation has on Thursday, 27th of August shifted the resumption date for International Flight to September 5th, 2020 during the PTF on Covid-19 daily briefing.

This was made known to the public at about 5:00pm on Thurday, 27th of August during the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 daily briefing.

Reasons behind this shift include, inability to meet up with measures given by NCDC together with the Federal Ministry of Aviation directives to curbing the spread of Covid-19 among many other reasons.

Confirming this, the Federal Ministry of Aviation took to their Twitter handle to notify the public about this new development, saying;

“Breaking: Regret to announce that the international flight resumption earlier scheduled to resume on 29th August has been shifted to 5th September 2020”

Recall that the resumption of International Flight was earlier scheduled to commence August 29th but now it has been shifted to September 5th.

In effort to Protecting Customers, the Federal Government has debunked the report on increase of electricity tariff, embarked on mass distribution of meters to all states as waiver of import levy has also been approved.

These were made known through a press statement recently released by the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

A woman named Modupe Oyelade has decided to dissolve her marriage after her husband allegedly tried to use her for money ritual.

This incident happened at their residence at Iyana-Church Ibadan earlier today and Modupe has since gone to the Court to terminate the 17- year journey with Adeyemi,the man in question.

“He lied to me he went to school but he has no certificate to show for it .
After my husband had frustrated my efforts to further my education in the university,I got assistance from friends and I graduated” she said.

“He wants to get rich quick and I’m his target. I bleed everytime I sleep with him.I see sacrificial calabashes on my head in my dreams and in the bedroom.
Sometimes, when we are in the bed, my husband does some magical things at midnight that suggests his evil intentions towards me. When I saw these signs, I left the home for him but our pastor intervened and I returned once more. I eventually packed away but he traced me about with hired killers who confessed and warned me to be careful” she added.

Meanwhile, the accused, Mr. Adeyemi rebuffed all allegations and insisted the wife is an adulterer.

“I did not make any attempt to use Modupe for money ritual. I have also been responsible to my children” he said.

The court headed by Judge Odunade however, made his judgement and dissolve their marriage stating “threat to life” as the major reason.

Modupe had 4 children for Adeyemi and they were handed over to the Plaintiff by the Court and ordered Adeyemi to pay #20000 as their monthly feeding allowance. He is also to be responsible for the children’s other welfare.

Access Bank, Victoria Island, Lagos  branch was today gutted by fire living many properties worth millions of naira with some valuables and official documents destroyed.

According to reports, an access bank located at Adetokunbo Ademola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos was said to be in ablaze,

The incident which occurred today, Wednesday, was attributed to diesel truck discharging fuel at bank. However, fire fighters were on ground to combat the outbreak.

Responding to this, Access bank through their Twitter handle has confirmed this incident adding that no loss of life or injury was sustained by anyone,
“There has been a fire incident at our Adetokunbo Ademola branch this morning. Thankfully, no one was harmed”

“Our fire protocol has been activated and all personnel have been moved to safety. Cause of the fire was a diesel truck discharging fuel, we advise you to avoid that area,” the tweet reads.

As at the time of filing this report, GGB reporters that, the fire which has been put out destroyed properties worth millions of naira, some official documents and other values. It was also gather that no life was lost and normalcy has also been restored.

Nigeria SARS operatives on Wednesday, allegedly stormed a petrol station in Ikoyi area of Lagos State, harassed the Manager while demanding to be put on a monthly salary payroll

This was made known to the public by a Twitter user Identified as Oyinbo Dudu who said SARS Operatives stormed a petrol station on Wednesday, 26th of August, after harassing the Manager in charge, demanded to be included in the Fuel Station monthly salary payroll.

According to Oyinbo, these group of special squad, storm a particular petrol station in ikoyi, and demand to be put on a monthly salary after harassing the manager in charge of the station,

Reactions from Nigerians have trailed this issue as the motive behind this action is yet to be ascertained. People have however expressed dissatisfaction concerning this deed, as many perceived it to be the height of exploitations from the SARS operatives.

This is coming few days after a news went viral on Social Media involving Economic and Financial Crime Commission(EFCC) Operatives who mounted check points, doing a “Stop and Search” operations in the Lekki axis of Lagos State but was Officially debunked as false by the EFCC authority.

Recall that Fani Kayode, a 59 years old Lawyer and former minister of Culture, Tourism and Aviation has recently lambasted a journalist in Calabar for carrying out his journalistic responsibilities expected of him.

This public display of behaviour by the former minister on a reputable journalist who goes about doing his daily job has been be totally condemned by the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) and some other organizations including well meaning Nigerians who described this act as an abuse of power and a means to abuse the right to the press freedom.

Anxiety trails following the gruesome murder of Mrs. Yemisi Baderu, wife of the Chief Imam of Ayere community in ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Mrs Yemisi was said to have been murdered in her house, in the presence of her husband and children on Thursday night as the assailants allegedly attacked her with a cutlass.

The entire community is saddened by this condemnable action, describing it as the first of its kind in the peaceful community like Ayere.

Expressing displeasure and annoyance over the incident, the traditional ruler of the town and the Alayere of Ayere Oba JO Olubo, has vowed to bring the culprits to book as he pleaded with the police not to release the perpatrators of this babaric act until thorough investigation and prosecution is carried out.

However, the Chairman, Senior Special Assistant on Security, in charge of Ijumu Local Government, Taufiq Isa, condemned the attack when he visited the community on Saturday, describing it as heartless and brutal.

According to the chairman, who reiterated that this kind of incident has never occurred in the Local Government, assuring the residents of the government’s commitment to try and restore peace, order and stability in the community.

Members of the community however call on the government and security agencies to come to their aid, in ensuring that sad incident relating to this never repeat itself again.

Indigenes of Mgbom Egbani, Ugwulangwu in Ebonyi stood still in great shock as one of their own, who is a serving soldier raided his home town to brutalize his stepmother with her Nine children, forced them out of his late father’s house and demolished it, claiming that no one in the community can question his actions.

The soldier Mr. Nwakpu when interrogated, postulated that he did not give his consent when his late father wanted to marry another wife, but the late father instisted on marrying Mrs. Nnennaya, relocated her and built another house for her.

Responding to this development, Mr. Emmanuel Idika, the community youth leader execrated the attitude of the soldier. He said;

“We the good people of Mgbom Egbani community and Ugwulangwu at large condemned the barbaric act done to our daughter, their wife Nnennaya Okorie Ano, a widow by one Mr. Nwakpu Okorie Ano.”

Confirming the incident, he said “The widow’s house was demolished today by the so-called Nwakpu Okorie and co, living her and her nine children without shelter. I believe that the gods of our land will fight for her, and please human rights should equally do well to interfere in this matter.”

Meanwhile, the late father ‘Okorie Ano’ was said to be a prominent teacher in Ugwulangwu, who died two months ago.

This however gave Nwakpu the leverage to carry out this dastardly.

The community members further extend their displeasure towards this sad incident, while calling on the government, human right activist and well meaning individuals to come to the aid of Mrs. Nnennaya Okorie, a widow and her nine children.

Drama enshrined as a popular Pastor identified as Matthew was beaten by group of prostitute in Golden Hotel in Ejigbo area of Lagos State.

According to a witness identified as Okwudili Theresa, the problem started when the pastor stood close to Golden hotel Ejigbo, and began preaching to the women of easy virtues and their male clients to forsake their sinful ways and turn to God for deliverance and salvation.

The pastor’s constant utterances on women that are indulging in promiscuous life, aggravated the commercial sex workers to pounce on him after Hannah who is said to be one of the sex workers angrily attacked the pastor while others follow suit.

“She angrily brought out a bucket of water and poured the man of God. As he was still trying to figure out what was going on, another prostitute advanced towards him and started pushing him away. He was almost pushed to the gutter if not for the timely intervention of passers-by,” Theresa said.

Another eye witness Uchenna Kingsley further maintained that the pastor overstepped his boundaries, as he would always preach close to the brothel,
“That was not the first day he was preaching at that place. But he didn’t use to get so close to the brothel premises as he did on this occasion. To me, I believe he overstepped his boundary because he knew the place was an unholy zone; he should have treaded more carefully”, he said.

Kingsley further postulated that, most times if not all the time, he uses the Bible verse, 1 Corinthian 6:18-20 which talks about fleeing from formication anytime he peaches

Meanwhile, the pastor did not make any attempt to fight the sex workers whom he described as “daughters of Jezebel” rather, it was observed that the Pastor after gaining consciousness in his soaked wears, picked up his Bible from the ground where it fell and walked away very sad without much counter words from him.

The Chairman of APC for Dantankari ‘ A’ ward in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State was reportedly abducted  alongside a woman and two kids.

It was gathered that the gunmen raided the town on Thursday and abducted the party Chairman, Alhaji Safiu Dantankari.

According to eye witnesses, the gunmen also abducted a woman and her two stepsons.
The names of the other two victims could not be ascertained, as their whereabout remain unknown.

A spokesman for the Katsina State Police Command , SP Gambo Isah, is yet to respond to phone calls and text message sent to him.

Meanwhile,no press statement has been released as regard this latest sad development.

The Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) has decided to initiate a policy that will make it compulsory for single ladies to get tested for drug before marriage.

This was disclosed by Mustapha Abdalla, the NDLEA chairman, during the destruction of illicit substances seized in Maiduguri, Borno state capital on Friday, August 21.

According to the Chairman who raised concern over the rate of drug consumption among ladies and married women, opined that, the recent statistics show that drug trafficking and abuse which was rampant among the male population, is increasing within teenage girls, young women, and old married women.

The Chairman while speaking said “As an extension of the proposed Drugs Integrity Test Policy in the public service, the NDLEA is also considering partnering with religious leaders to make drug test a prerequisite for marriage in Churches and Mosques just as the case of HIV/AIDS and genotype test” adding that “We can no longer remain indifferent to the problems and refused to take responsibility in an effort to control drugs. We must come to terms that drugs issue is a shared responsibility for all in the society”.

“Government at all levels, community and religious leaders, parents, social workers, the media, youth organisations and policy makers should see it as a point of duty to come together and identify with our office in the efforts of combating drug abuse” he further reiterated.

In conclusion, Mustapha said drug test should be one of the marriage requirements in churches and mosques, which will help in curbing and curtailing the rate of drug consumption among ladies.

Enugu state police command has recently nabbed over 8 suspected armed robbers terrorizing Nsukka area of Enugu State.

According to Daniel Ndukwe, Enugu police public relation officer, the breakthrough recorded after the arrest of Victor Ebute and Ebuka Omene on 07/08/2020 by the operatives of the command, attached to Udenu area while on stop and search duty at Inni along Enugu /Markurdi expressway, where locally made pistols and two live cartridges were found on them.

On transferring them to Anti- cultism unit for further investigation, which resulted to the arrest of others on the 16/08/2020 after their confession, numerous items were additionally recovered and these include one locally made pistol with two cartridges and different types of several motorcycles.

From information gathered by our reporters, the suspects were said to belong to the members of Vikings Confraternity and notorious armed robbery gang operating in Igbo-Etiti in Nsukka axis of Enugu State.

It would be of note that these bandits have charged to court and are all awaiting trial.

It is ironical when one who treats others of a particular ailment now gets treated of the same ailment. This is a case similar to Prof. Akin Abayomi, the Lagos State Health Commissioner who has just contracted the deadly corona virus.

This was made known in a press statement released at the early hours of Monday, 24th of August by the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso.

According to Gbenga, the commissioner contracted the virus due to “subsequent close contact with persons feeling unwell and testing positive for the COVID-19 infection”.

The statement further explained that “Abayomi became aware of his status following the required testing protocol of contact tracing procedures”.

It would be glad to note that the commissioner is doing well as he is already on self isolation pending when issues surrounding his health status will come back to normal.

This is coming few weeks after two health commissioners recently died of complications from the deadly corona virus as reported.

Oyo State Police Command nabbed a trader identified as Emmanuel Egbu for allegedly eating bread and human feces in his shop on Saturday, August 22.

Egbu who trades in cosmetics and hairs, was said to have been caught eating human feces with bread. Those who caught him in the strange act raised alarm that attracted a huge crowd.

The prompt intervention of the police prevented crowd from lynching him,

The spokesperson of the state police command, Olugbenga Fadeyi, who confirmed his arrest, said the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Sango Police Station had begun an investigation into the incident. He said the feces reportedly found with the suspect has been sent to the laboratory for examination.

Meanwhile, the angry mob seized the opportunity to loot and destroy his shop.

Sunday Shodipe, a 19 years old serial killer who escaped from prison after his arrest has come out to narrate the circumstances surrounding his escape just at the point where Nigerians were shockingly inquisitive.

Celebration filled the air at the noon hours of Sunday in Oyo State after Police rearrested Sunday Shodipe who escaped from Makolo Police custody through a group who gave detailed information on his where about.

Shodipe, while addressing Pressmen on Sunday, revealed that his escape was successful due to negligence from the side of the police officer assigned to monitor him.

According to him, he told the officers that he wanted to go have his bath which he was permitted by the new female DPO but ” cautioned me not to try to escape”.

On his way to the bathroom in the yard, he discovered that the officer identified as Funsho who was assigned to monitor him was not paying attention to him anymore as he was engaged “discussing with another person” and that was how he manage to “climb the pole and jumped the fence” leading to his escape.

He further said “the people living in the area saw me when I escaped but they did not raise any alarm,”

GbosGistBlog earlier reported that the 19 years of serial killer had escaped from the police custody and we also reported how IGP, Mohammed Adamu declared thorough investigation towards his rearrest but however, we are glad to announce now that Mr. Shodipe has been recaptured at the noon hours of Sunday, 23rd of August.

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, in a statement through the Police spokesperson, Frank Mba, said the suspect was re-arrested in Bodija area of Ibadan, Oyo State adding that the IGP has warned against “any form of complacency on the part of the operatives of the Oyo State Police Command”.

Recall that Sunday Shodipe, was accused of involvement in stealing, murdering and raping of some female residents in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital and on his initial arrest was charged to court, scheduled to hold August 8 before his escape.

The clash, which reportedly started after the Police tried to stop IPOB members holding a meeting in Emene area of Enugu Stated lasted for several hours,

Reports have it that Army and DSS operatives were mobilised and deployed to help salvage the situation which turned out to be bloody,

Undisclose operatives of DSS were reported to have gone missing while about many persons were feared dead.

The Enugu state Police PRO, ASP Daniel Ekea, couldn’t be reached for interrogations, as several calls to his line were not picked.

The Facebook user in his post on Friday, revealed the dilapidated nature of the only school in Idumeje-Ugboko area of Delta state where the Billionaire Ned Nwoke came from and also did his primary and secondary education including his Teaching Practice as alleged.

Samuel also recounted the ordeal members of the community are going through as Ned Nwoko the billionaire husband of the popular Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels takes away 132.4 hectares of community land being the only source of livelihoods as farmers where in, anyone that dears to challenge him gets arrested using the Nigeria Police Force.

The facebook user in conclusion call on the government, public and well meaning individuals to come to the rescue of Idumeje-Ugboko indigenes as the Billionaire businessman, Ned Nwoko has not done anything for his community of origin rather, than taking away their(community members) lands which is the primary source of income as farmers.

Samuel Omogor posted:

“this is the only secondary school in Idumuje-Ugboko in Delta State. The agrarian community Regina Daniels husband Billionaire “PHILANTHROPIST” Ned Nwoko is from. This is this the secondary school he attended and even did his Teaching Practice. He is now involved in 132.4 hectares of community land grabbing in the name of wanting to build university. He hasn’t done anything for the community but rather want to take away their land which is their only source of livelihoods as farmers.

It is so apparent that the rate of loathing and detestation against Nigerians in some African countries is becoming so alarming which demands urgent attention.

Evidently, Nigerians have a track record of breaking through and prospering in any strange environment or foreign country they found themselves, this singular act has attracted huge aversion against Nigerians living in most African countries.

For the same course, Nigeria lost properties worth billions properties, to Xenophobic attaks in South Africa which is not far from the recent events that is gradually unfolding and playing out in Ghana.

Nigerian living in Ghana have continued to suffer abuse and humiliation in the hands of Ghanaian authorities as businesses are being suppressed, closed down and forcefully locked up their shops including those whose papers and tax payments were up to date.

However, the recent interview with the VCN TV depicts that Ghanaians see Nigerians living in Ghana as a threat, due to the way they thrive in business. See how Ghana respondents express their greviances and displeasure over the way Nigerians businesses flourish.

“It is good they are closing down Nigerian shops. They are spoiling our market with cheap prices. I used to have a Nigerian neighbor close to my shop. When I learnt that the authorities have closed down his shop. I was really pleased”, a Ghanian trader said.

Anothoe Ghanian trader said “Nigerians are spoiling our market with cheap prices.
A product that sells for 5 Ghana Cedis. Nigerians will come and start selling it for 3 Ghana Cedis.
We borrowed money to rent our shops we need to make profit when we sell.”

These among many others were the opinions of Ghanaian traders who were interviewed today on what they feel about Ghana police closing down Nigerian traders shops.

It would be worthy of note that this recent development is seemingly a mere violation to the 1979 ECOWAS Protocol on the Free Movement of People and the rights of West Africans to trade and residency.

This is indeed a call for action on ECOWAS, as Africans look up to putting an end to any form of Xenophobic attacks on Africans and also to support the resurgence of Pan-Africanism as Xenophobia often depicts a crisis of moral panic; illusionary, irrational and perceived fear; or “fear of the unknown”.

The entire residents of Mariri Quarters in Kano was thrown into shock on Friday, 21st of August after a decomposing corpse of a woman was uncovered after she was locked up in a room by the husband for three days Over a yet to be identified reason.

According to reports, the entire neighborhood of Mariri quarters in Kano was thrown in shock after discovering a decomposing corpse in the neighborhood. The stench from the decomposing corpse forced the neighbors to alert the security operatives in Kano state who conducted a sweeping operation that led to the discovery,

The woman was allegedly locked up by her husband for three days at Mariri Quarters in Kano Metropolis.

Meanwhile, The police had evacuated the corpse to an undisclosed health facility in the city for postmortem.

DSP Abdullahi Haruna , Spokesman of the Kano Police Command, while confirming the incident to reporters in Kano disclosed that investigation has been launched into the matter to unravel the circumstances behind his death and to bring to book the culprit.

It would be of note that, the suspected killer of the deceased, the husband has been arrested as further investigation is still ongoing.

Villagers were thrown into dismay as a dead man who went missing on Sunday night, was cut out of a seven-metre long python’s stomach after being swallowed whole in a remote village on the island of west Sulawesi, Indonesia.

A giant seven metre-long Python snake which swallowed an Indonesian man whole, has left some residents of a village with the grisly task of removing him from the animal’s belly. Some gruesome photos which emerged online and have been circulating on social media, appear to show the moment Akbar Salubiro was pulled out from the reptile’s belly on a remote island.

According to The Sun UK, the 25-year-old had set off for work harvesting palm oil on the island of West Sulawesi, Indonesia, on Sunday night. But when he didn’t return home, concerned friends and relatives began looking for him the next evening. It was learnt that they found the python lying in Akbar’s back garden with a giant bulge in its stomach on Monday night.

The locals gathered round as one man used an 18-inch long hunting knife to slice open the serpent and claim to have found Akbar’s body inside.

Incredible footage shows the corpse being slowly removed from the killer reptile as the leathery skin is peeled away.

While speaking with a correpondent, a neighbour identified as Satriawan who knew Akbar said: “He was found in the location of the garden. Initially Akbar set out from his home to go to harvest palm, after not returning to his home, people looked for him.’’

Local media reported that Akbar’s wife Munu was away at the time and only found out when pictures and video emerged in the news, adding that they believed Akbar was attacked from behind. 

Village secretary, Salubiro Junaidi said: “People had heard cries from the palm grove the night before Akbar was found in the snake’s stomach” adding that “When the snake was captured, the boots Akbar was wearing were clearly visible in the stomach of the snake. Resident cut open the belly of the snake and Akbar was lifeless.”

The Nigeria Police Force are conducting physical and credential screening for various applicants who applied to join the force online albeit “constable” level, which will come up between August 24 and September 6.

Mr.Frank MBA,the public relations officer said this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja. All applicants are expected to appear in an all white T- shirt and shorts. Applicants are also to come with their National Identity Number and Original Copies of their credentials.

“Other mandatory requirements are O”level results, Certificate of Origin and Birth certificate arranged in two white flats along with two passport photographs.”

“Applicants who are unable to provide the aforementioned shall not be allowed to partake in the screening process” the spokesman said.

He(Mr Mba) also added that the exercise will hold at appointed places in all the 36 states including The Federal Territory, Abuja, saying “each states should follow due protocols as announced by the PRO of each state which will include the Covid 19 safety measures”.

“The process will be conducted in the best tradition of transparency and accountability” Mba said.

Finally, he adviced all applicants to be alert to wave off any shady or scammers trying to impersonate the police by taking advantage of the screening exercise to dupe innocent people.

After Nigeria Air Force releases a full investigation over the event that led to the death of the flying officer Tolulope Arotile, the real killer after been arrested, told Magistrate Court on Thursday, 20th of August that it was not his initial intention to kill her.

According to reports, the first female combat pilot who contributed significantly to combat operations against insecurity in the Northern Nigeria, Tolulope Arotile died of head injury sustained from a moving vehicle accident.

After investigation, it was discovered that Nehemiah Adejoh, was the one behind the steering of the vehicle that knocked her down at the airforce base on July 11 before she was pronounced dead at the Air Force hospital and there after was arrested.

On being charged to the Kaduna Magistrate Court on Thursday, August 20, for deliberately killing the the deceased, the suspect has said it was not a deliberate act.

According to him, on sighting the deceased who was walking along the roadside at the Air Force base, he started reversing the car to greet her, but mistakenly ran over he, adding that he never had a premeditated plan to take her life,

While the suspect was charged with culpable homicid , the chief magistrate, Danjuma Hassan has ordered for him to be remanded in prison until 3rd of October for further hearing.

As Nigerians continue to mourn the death of the first female combat pilot, The Nigeria government has vowed to ensure justice prevails on her gruesome death.

Indigenes of Southern Kaduna living in Europe have protested against the killings in southern Kaduna, their home town, asking the international community to influence President Buhari to stop what they described as ‘genocide,’ and ‘state-sponsored’ killings of Christians by Fulani herdsmen.

The protesters also urged the federal government to declare Fulani herdsmen a terrorist organisation.

The Southern Kaduna People in Diaspora (SOKAPDA) Europe numbering about 25, converged at the country’s most famous landmarks, Trafalgar Square, at the early hours of Thursday, August 20th, matching to the Nigerian High Commission in nearby Northumberland Avenue, with the cheerleaders chanting “what do we want?” as others responded saying “justice.”

The protest then went into full swing at the Embassy, where they chanted “southern Kaduna can’t breathe”, “ Southern Kaduna lives matter”, “Stop the killings and “stop the genocide.” As the numbers increased, the protesters continued with chants of “Buhari wake up”, “Nigeria does not belong to one tribe”, “Nigeria does not belong to Fulani”. ‘We say no to Jihad, we say no to sharia law, stop El- Rufai”.

There were also chants of “Fulani jihadist are killing us”, “Buhari wake up, we have the right to choose our faith, and we have chosen to be Christians.”

They accused both the federal government and the state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, of letting the Christians in southern Kaduna down, and turning a blind eye to the killings of over 2000 people. They urged “El-Rufai to go, if he cannot protect the lives of Christians”.

While addressing The Guardian reporters, Rita Allahmagani, the SOKAPDA President said the reason they have decided stage this protest is to make the international community know that what is happening in southern Kaduna is not a “conflict, but genocide.”

Asked what they want the international community to do, she said: “let them rise up to their responsibility and help. We want the UK, US and France to come in, and prevail on the government to end the killings.”

They later handed a letter to an official of the Nigerian High Commission, who assured them that their message will surely get to the president through the ambassador as reported by Guardian Newspaper

Recall that, countless events of herdsmen and boko haram killings have been on the top notch in Southern Kaduna resulting into the loss of more than 2000 lives being murdered in cooled blood, yet no tangible measures have been taken to curtail or bring a lasting solution by the federal government and the Kaduna State government.

Expressing his dissatisfaction over the recent development in Mali which has put the country in chaos, President Buhari through is twitter handle at the noon hours of Thurday, 20th of August sent a note of warning to the mutinying soldiers in Mali.

According to the president, who sees the events as a set back and threat to peace and security, advised Malians to act responsibly and ensure full restoration of constitutional order and stability,

His tweet reads;

“The events in Mali are great setbacks for regional diplomacy, with grave consequences for the peace and security of West Africa” adding that “It is time for the unconstitutional ‘authority’ in Mali to act responsibly and ensure restoration of constitutional order, peace and stability”

President Buhari further maintained that “Nigeria strongly supports the efforts of ECOWAS Chairman, President Mahamadou Issoufou, for wider regional and continental consultations with ECOWAS, the AU and the UN, and the adoption of strong measures to bring speedy resolution to the situation.”

Recall that the President of Mali, Ibrahim Boubacar has at the late hours of Tuesday resigned from his office after armed soldiers seized him from his home in a dramatic power grab following months of protest, demanding his ouster. It would be of note also that Mali is now be rule by a 25 years old Military Officer immediately after the former leader officially tendered his resignation.
