After Delta State police swoop into action on 27th of June, six pump-action rifles were dug up from a church in Okwe area of Asaba.
In the course of the operation, some fire arms were dug up after they were hidden in Christ Holy Church International building located in Asaba.

It was a sad day for residents of Omi Agagu, Olufoam area of Akure on Wednesday when one of the most active and vibrant dogs was shot countless times by some officers of the Nigeria Police after been confronted from braking into the owner’s house.

After numerous attempt to gain entrance into the said house was aborted by one of the most vibrant and active dogs from the German Shepherd breed, popularly known as police-dog due to their level of alertness and how they are often used by security men for criminal investigation, these officers were seen shooting on target sporadically.
Few minutes later, after they stopped shooting without gaining entrance into the compound due to the intense anger that erupted from these dogs despite the officers shooting threat, the officers entered into their van and zoomed off till they became invisible.
According to some eyewitnesses, their mission till now was not stated.
It was later discovered that the German Shepherd dog who stood its ground with utmost alertness became so weak at the corner of its territory specifically at the balcony of the owner’s building, struggling for his life, having had his private organ outside his body as a result of bullet smashes.
Blood was seen gushing out of his body from the injuries sustained.
Report has it that he was rushed to the clinic (name undisclosed) for treatment by his owner and some kind-hearted individuals but unfortunately, the brave German-Shepherd dog lost its life.

The Inspector General of Police, M.A Adamu has on Friday ordered a clampdown on the perpetrators of Isanlu police station attack and the Bank robbery in Yagba Area of Kogi State which happened at the noon hours of Thursday.
In a public briefing at the early hours of Friday after condemning the sad occurrence, IGP Adamu disclosed that a team of crack detectives from the Intelligence Response Team(IRT), Special Tactical Squad (STS) and Federal-SARS(FSARS) has been deployed to Kogi State to ensure the apprehension of the hoodlums.
While reviewing the security set-up and structure, the IGP directed AIG of Police in charge of Zone 8 Police Headquarters Lokoja to check the security level so as to prevent future occurrences in Kogi State and its environs. He further added that the “AIG is to personally oversee the ongoing investigations into the attack and coordinate intelligence that will lead to unearthing the where about of the hoodlums and the circumstances surrounding the sad incident”
In his closing remark, condolences were uttered to the families of police officers and other persons who lost their lives during the operations of the criminals while calling on indigenes of Isanlu community and kogi state to be at peace.
He further urge anyone with useful information for speedy arrest of the perpetrators to come up with it.
Recall that about eight(8) police officers were killed at Isanlu police station by same criminals who robbed a commercial bank in Yagba area of Kogi state while also killing passersby along the way on Thursday.
