Today, 18th September 2020 will see the current Governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki and APC governorship Candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu slug it out for the coveted post in an election holding across various local governments in the state.
Obaseki, who is a PDP candidate has just completed a term in office and is hoping to go for a second. He will face 14 other candidates but realistically, we know APC is the other strong force to give the PDP a major challenge.
About 12 of the LGA will play a big part in deciding who the winner which includes
Egor, Ikpoba/Okha, Oredo, Ovia North-East, Ovia South-West and Uhunmwode. Others are Akoko Edo, Owan West, Owan East, Etsako East, Etsako West and Etsako Central.
6 out of the LGAs are located in the Edo- South Senatorial District where leading APC candidate, Ize-Iyamu and the current Governor hails from.
