Mr. President today, disclosed through his media handle how saddened he feels over kebbi flood disaster which has led to the loss of lives, properties and many hectres of farmland.
The flood disaster, according to Muhammadu Buhari is a major knock to Nigerians effort in producing and boosting rice production and other agricultural produce, which was part of the measures put in place by the federal government to end importation of agricultural produce from other countries.
Speaking further on the damages, he maintained that it was a bad news to Nigerians, owning to the fact that it came at point farmers desire to kick off the harvesting of their crops so as to reduce the current increase in prices of food items.
As a focal point of the government’s policy to produce rice locally being part of his administration’s commitment to revive Nigerians agricultural sector and put an end to importation, kebbi flood came as a hit and a threat to boosting agricultural produce,
The President however, sympathized with farmers affected and bereaved families, promising that government will work hand in hand with Kebbi state government, to bring relief to all flood victims.
