Nigerians, most especially Abians reacted in disgust over poor leadership and development wrath upon the state since its inception after Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu gave a public address at the early hours of Friday, 28th of August marking Abia State 29 years of existence.
This is coming after Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu through his twitter handle described Abia state as a “work in progress”, assuring Abians that critical infrastructure in the state will be sustained.
His tweet reads “I shall remain focused on the discharge of the obligations of my office and I do so relentlessly and with dedication until the very last day of my tenure as your Governor” adding that “In the months ahead, we shall develop more sustainable means of solidifying our position as the small and medium enterprises (SME) capital of Nigeria, by continuing to support the growth of local enterprises, as a catalyst for economic development”.
However, members of the public have affirmed that Abia state has so long been subjected to poor governance which has consistently kept the state in a total quagmire, describing the state as the worst state in Nigeria even when Abia is the center of Industrial hub in the whole South East that generates much revenue for the state on a daily basis but remains a shadow of itself.
The members of the public further went to create awareness with the hashtag “#saveAbia” over poor development, non payment of worker’s salary, and lack of infrastructure in the state.
