The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has ordered for the re-arrest of the notorious criminal in Oyo state who escaped from the custody of Oyo State Police Command.
This was made known by the Police Public Relation Officer, Mr. Frank Mba who said the IGP has ordered the Oyo State Commissioner of Police to try all means to possible within his power to rearrest the criminal.
Mba made it clear on Wednesdah that Muhammed Adamu has also intensified plans and tactics to assist the Oyo state Government’s Police Force in the search.
Mr. Frank in the statement said “the team Is expected to bring their vast operational, technical and investigative experience to bear in supporting the on going efforts aimed at rearresting and bringing the fugitive to book”, adding that “all persons indicated in the escape are to be identified and made to face the wrath of the law”.
However, the IGP has calmed the nerves of the youths in the communities who are furious about the escape by asking them to provide useful information the Force can use to get the desired result.
Recall that the 19 years old Sunday Shodipe was arrested alongside with two other men on July 17th who were charged to court but firstly remanded in the police custody. Unfortunately, Sunday found his way out of the police custody where he was locked on August, 8th which stirred up annoyance in among members of the communities resulting into a mass protest at the Oyo State Police Command.
We hope he gets caught and brought to book as GGB reporters following this story, are always at alert to reporting the latest happenings as it unfolds.
