The serving APC members from Ovia South West local government area handling the office of the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) and Special Assistant(SA) to the Edo State Governor have tender a resignation letter on the 2nd of July over defection pressure from members of the opposition party.
Stating their reason for the resignation through the letter addressed to Gov. Obaseki, the SSA/SAs said ” our reason is simply base on the fact that we are not ready to defect to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) along with the Governor. We still believe more on the All Progressives Congress (APC)”
Honest Unuaghon (SSA, LGA), Goodluck Uyigue (SA, Ward 2), Olajide Victor (SA, Ward 8), Razak Rotimi (SA, Ward 7) and Smart Bank (SA, Ward 10) while commending their boss, said “we wish to express our sincere appreciation to His Excellency, for giving us the opportunity to serve Him in this capacity” adding that ” God will bless Ovia South West LGA…Edo State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria “
Recall that Gov. Obaseki had defected to PDP after he was disqualified from participating in the APC primary election over certificate sager and since his defection, so many top politicians who were members of the All Progressive Congress(APC) had also defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to pledge their loyalty.
