The National Youth Service Corps(NYSC) ex-corps members of Batch-A 2019 in Ogun State made history on Thursday by donating already saved allowee to purchasing palliatives while dispersing themselves across states within the country despite the inter-state border closure with the purpose of helping and sensitizing the poorest of the poor amidst the Lockdown.

The Batch-A ex-corps members, FREEDOM BROTHERS as fondly called had in 2019 camped in Sagamu, the state NYSC camp and had partly benefited from the 33k allowance increment in February and March 2020 which came after the N19,800 before their successful pass out.

The palliatives under distribution across states in Nigeria include baskets of rice, beans, litres of ground oil, sachets of tomatoes, breads among many others having numerous families as benefiaries of this selfless effort.These paliatives amidst all odds ranging from restriction of movement to logistics and cashless savings were tangibly delivered by voluntary members with Bello Abiola who coordinated for Oshodi Isolo of Lagos State, Teniola Olubolade for Olorunda L.G area of Osun State, Muhammad Hassan for Kumbotso L.G area of Kano State, Abide Matthew for Lokoja L.G. area of Kogi State and a host of other volunteers in Delta, Ebonyin, Abuja and other neighbouring states. 

This project was targeted towards sensitizing the people about Covid-19 and the policies put in place to curb its spread which include frequent Washing of hands, where of face mask, avoid social gathering among many other measures.

Speaking on how they were able to put all these efforts together regardless of the situations in the country, Mr. Adeoti Sunday (OG/19A/2390), the initiator of this idea said “It was not really easy bringing this up at this time of lack when most of us have no job at hand and are  almost exhausting our savings due to the stay at home policy but all glory to God for the success and collective efforts from my then hostel mates #Freedom-Hostel now partners”. 

When approached, The Treasure for this move, Mr. Oyedokun Kazeem told GbosGistBlog reporter that he saw selflessness in the vision and in accordance with what the NYSC scheme has taught them during their year of service, decided to dive into the idea and then ” we started making moves with Mr.Sunday to get it achieved and here we are” adding that most of the cash donations and contributions were done online and sent to accounts of representatives with their team withdrawing it at the various benefiting states for the execution of this selfless project.

Mr. Oriretan Honour in charge of publicity said “we have finished serving our father’s land, now we chose to serve our mother’s land with this move” 
From interviews gathered, beneficiaries of this initiative from different states thanked the the ex-corps members through their various representatives for the kind gesture. Others expressed their profound gratitude to the NYSC scheme for bringing Youths of this kind together and breeding them to help develop the society in their own little way.

While some complained of been denied partitive from state and federal government living them with intense hunger, others appeal to ‘well-to-do-individuals’ and Nigeria government to come to their aid as most of them living in a very local interior communities are unmercifully left without means of survival as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown policy currently on going. 
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari and other state governors have pleaded to Organizations, NGOs, Religious Leaders, Traditional Rulers and Individuals in the country and various states to lend a hand of help to those around them in this time of difficulties.    

The viral video shows how a security personnel (police) in Access Bank shoots on the air to scare the customers on ground away for peace to be restured around the area where the ATM is located but unfortunately killing a customer who was so frustrated by the whole situation while trying to gain access to the ATM for quick Withdraw.

As at the time of filing this report, reactions trail the air across all media channels with comments frowning sadly toward the actions of the security officer.

While others call on Nigeria government and other security agencies to investigate deeply on the issue surrounding the viral video.

David Oyedepo, the presiding Bishop over Living Faith Church, has on Wednesday criticised the Nigeria government over the ill treatment of the Church since the CoronaVirus pandemic by permanently shutting down Churches living markets open.

As part of measures to stop the spread of coronavirus virus, the Nigerian government banned religious gatherings till further notice.

Bishop Oyedepo during the Covenant Hour of Prayer programme of the Church held at its headquarters in Otta, Ogun State on Wednesday morning, broadcast live to members, screamed with anger about the continuous closure of churches was suspicious.

According to him, the Lord revealed to him that it was part of moves to stop the church of God from expanding saying “I can smell a rat behind the closure of Churches. The Lord spoke to me about it. It’s part of moves and strategies to stop the Church from spreading and growing.”

He added “How do you have the markets open and the Churches remain closed? Which one is more organized? The devil is surely targeting the people, but God’s words says I shall build my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail”

He went on praying that “Any gang up against the Church shall surely fail. The devil and his agents shall surely pay for this,” .

He added that it was not acceptable that Churches where people get saved and healed were permanently closed.

While advicing the government, the bishop said “It’s wrong to continue to have the Churches closed. This is an upside down way of looking at things. I declare that the world is free and the nations are liberated from continuous lockdown,”

Oyedepo had earlier said in one of the church Sunday service been 26 of April that the Nigeria leaders should stop surrounding themselves with bad individuals and consult prophets like him and others within the nation before making some decisions citing Elijah, Daniel, John the Baptist and some prophets in the Bible who were consulted by the reigning kings before taking some actions

Prisoners on Monday set the Sapele Correctional Centre on fire, destroying properties belonging to government over non execution of Governor’s order. 

Remember that few days ago, the Governor of Delta State Dr. Author Okowa had issued an order to The officer in charge of the correctional centres(prison) to release 25 inmates but unfortunately for the inmates, 3 of their fellows were released instead of the 25 as ordered by the state governor. 

This sprang up the anger of the inmates resulting into agitation and setting ablaze some properties belonging to the government within the correctional centre. Speaking with an officer in the correctional centre who pleaded anonimity confirms the incident adding that none of the inmate escaped as “not one of them was found missing”.

It was a black Thursday for the indigenes of Ilaje community area of Ondo State when over 50 armed men stormed the palace of the ex-Oba, Prince Adebanjo at about 2:00am killing a pupil by name Marvelous Akintubuwa living over 40 persons wounded while properties worth millions of naira were grossly destroyed.

Report has it that there has been some underlying issues between the ex-Oba Prince Adebanjo Mafimisebi and Oba Obateru Akinruntan the current Olugbo of Ugbo, some of which are land dispute, the dethronement of the ex-Oba in 2007 which he sees as unjust verdict by court after ruling for 25 years among many other issues.

In the course of investigation to ascertain the true cause of the attack, an insider who pleaded anonymity disclosed that the ex-Oba has always seen himself as king and has never for ones seen the current Olugbo of Ugbo, Oba Obateru as the king with reason been that the dethronement was an unjust court verdict as alleged by him and that is why he(Prince Adebanjo) is collaborating with the state government to see how he can get back his throne. So, when the community boys heard of his secretive strategic plan, they then chose to lunch an attack and that’s why the whole situation turned out this way.

Prince Idowu, a legal counsel to Prince Adebanjo while speaking to news men said that the families of the ex-Oba were driven away from the palace single handedly built by him during his reign in the community adding that the armed boys that perpetrated the attack just acted the script written by Oba Obateru Akinruntan. 

Another source living within the vicinity disclosed that land ownership is the major cause of this attack adding that Oba Obateru has once told the ex-Oba to move out of the land on which his palace is sited with reason being that he(Oba Obateru) wants to build his own palace on that same land and the ex-Oba replied him that the land and his palace belong to him(Prince Adebanjo) which makes it impossible for him to move.

While narrating how the incident happened, Prince Idowu told news men at Akure that “the boys after gaining entrance into the house at midnight, broke the children’s (Adetomiwa Mafimisebi and Abimbade Mafimisebi) head with axes and macheted the ex-Oba’s Olori, Femi Mafimisebi inflicting pain on her” adding that the indigenes who came to rescue the family joined the league of those that were rescued as a little boy was later discovered floating on a river suspectedly thrown there by the bandits.

When asked about the attack on the ex-Oba, Olugbo of Ugbo(Oba Obateru Akinruntan) dissociates himself from the attack saying he can never support any attack on his subject but as regard the land dispute between him and his predecessor, he said “the residence has been in existence long before his short reign, how can the same residence be claimed to have been owned by him?”

The indigenes of the citadel-of-oil in Ilaje area of Ondo State called on Governor Akeredolu and security agencies to come to their aid and carry out a thorough investigation of this attack very urgently as people are now scared which is now leading to massive exodus of dwellers to neighboring communities.

The Health Minister, Dr. Osagie Ehanire while briefing House of Representatives on Tuesday says local herbs can now be used as remedy for treatment of Covid-19 but must be subject to test by Nigeria Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development before approval.

As the Presidential Task Forces on Covid-19 was briefing House of Representatives members, Dr. Osagie disclosed that President Buhari is open to the possibility of using local herbs to curb Covid-19.

He said the government was not ruling out the possibility of using local herbs for the treatment of COVID-19 but those who claim to have found cure should have subjected it to test by the Nigeria Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development before embarking on its sales.

He also went on advising hospitals rejecting patients for the fear of Covid-19 not to do such again as it endangers the members of the public and the country to contracting the virus.

This is coming few days after Madagascar developed a local medicine that serves as vaccine to curing Covid-19 infected persons. Through this medicine, the spread of Covid-19 has been reduced to minimal and as at the time of this report, nine(9) Covid-19 patients have been discharged and tested negative numerous times as not even one death has been recorded since it approval.

Most African Presidents excluding Nigeria were in attendance during the recent meeting precised over by Madagascar’s President in view of ways to curbing the spread of Covid-19

In an online meeting held on earlier this week, Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina has pledged to distribute their Coronavirus medicine to hospitals across Africa.

During the over one hour online meeting, African Presidents in their various offices were connected, discussing the way forward toward the negative impact the global pandemic has done in virtually all the sectors within their various countries and how lives have been lost.

African Presidents in attendance include Ramaphosa of South Africa, Paul Kagame of Rwanda, Kenyatta of Kenya, Ali Bongo of Gabon, Idriss Deby of Chad, Tshisekedi of Congo, Fattah El-sisi of Egypt, Mahamadou Issoufou of Niger and a host of many others.

Jumia Nigeria has joined the league of those donating to the Federal Republic of Nigeria in other to fight the global pandemic called Covid-19.

The history was made when Jumia Nigeria donates 100,000 face masks to the federal Ministry of Health as their little way of supporting the federal government in fighting the pandemic ravaging the country

While receiving these gifts at the Ministry’s Headquarters on behalf of Dr. Osagie Ehanire the Health Minister, Dr. Adebimpe Adebiyi the Director, Hospital Services, Federal Ministry of Health expresses her gratitude, telling Jumia Nigeria representatives that the 100,000 face masks will be distributed accordingly for appropriate usage

At the mid hour of Thursday, a Police man on duty allegedly shot dead a soldier in Bomadi Local Government, Bayelsa State

It’s a black Thursday for the indigenes of Bayelsa State specifically the dwellers of Bomadi Local Government as a police officer shoots to death a soldier.

As at the time of filing this report, the root cause of the disagreement between the police officer and the soldier leading to his death was not clearly stated but an eye witness who pleads anonymity while speaking to news men says

Immediately the police shoots the soldier, the other members of the 222 battalion soldiers run to hiding and on discovering that their member has been killed, they went after the police officer but unfortunately, they could not catch him.

Some security personnel at the scene of the incident disclose that everywhere is peaceful pending when investigation will be made so the culprit will be brought to book.

Indigenes of the community plead for government’s intervention so the issue at hand will not escalated beyond control as their life and safety is at stake.

After appointing 5 dead persons in 2015, Muhammadu Buhari has yet again appointed another dead person as member of FCC in a letter read by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan during plenary on Tuesday which has gotten numerous reactions by Nigerians

President Buhari on Tuesday appoints 38 persons as member of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) including: Muheeda Dankaka as the Chairman, Henry Ogbulogo, Salihu Bello, Obonganwan Ebong, Ibeabuchi Uche, Mohammed Tijjani, Tonye Okio, Silas Macikpah, Abba Monguno and Nsor Atamgba.

Others are Alims Agoda, Tobias Chukwuemeka, Imuetinyan Festus, Sesan Fatoba, Ginika Florence Tor, Hamza Mohammed, Diogu Uche, Lawan Roni and Hadiza Muazu.

Also appointed are Muhammad Na‘iya, Lawal Garba, Abubakar Bunu, Idris Bello, Daniel Kolo, Are Bolaji, Nasir Kwarra, Maj. Gen. Suleiman Said (retd) and Abiodun Akinlade.
Buhari also appointed Olufemi Omosanya, Adeoye Olalekan, Adeniyi Olowofela, Stephen Jings, Wokocha Augustine, Abdullahi Tafida, Armaya’u Abubakar, Jibril Maigari, Sani Garba and Adamu Sidi-Ali.

One among the appointees is a 59years old late Tobias Chukwuemeka Okwuru who hale from Eboyin State. Tobias was born on 26th of March 1961 and before his death was the former Law-maker representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency at House of Representative Eboyin State who later died February 2020.

Remember that President Muhammadu Buhari had in 2015 appointed 5 dead persons in public offices which include: Lt. Niyi Odebode, Lt. John Alechenu, Lt.Olusola Fabiyi, Lt. Olaleye Aluka and Lt. Ade Adesomoju

While briefing members of the public, the Presidential Media Aid said those appointed due to their good works, were nominated and before the list could scale through the approval processes, it is unfortunate that one of them is dead

Nigerians through various media channels are expressing their sadness towards this issue. While some are saying it is proof of incompetency of the Buhari led administration who acts base on instructions from his cabals not what he thinks is right in other to syphon public fund , others are sarcastically saying Mr. President is not always aware of virtually everything that happens around him and has shown non verification of serious issues by Nigerian Leaders.

Barely few days after the NCDC Confirmed two cases of Covid-19 in Delta state on Wednesday, one between the two has come out to debunk the report accusing government of falsification of report for embezzlement purposes. 

Recall that NCDC had on late Tuesday 21st of April confirmed two new cases in Delta State reported by Mr. Ononye the state Commissioner for Health and the State Governor Sen. Okowa in a statement showing that a man from Uvwie  L.G and a Lady from Udu L.G were confirmed positive for Covid-19 both from Warri area of Delta State skyrocketing the total number of cases in the state to six(6)… Mr. Ononye the state health commissioner went on to say “all the active cases are in stable condition and receiving treatment from our team of medical professionals at our isolation centres…”

In contrary to this, the lady between these two newly confirmed cases has come out to allegedly debunk the report given by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) concerning her health status as false. 
While address news men in an audio piece that leaked out, she is heard narrating how badly she is being treated by  the medical practitioners in the isolation centre Warri General Hospital where she is currently…In the audio she said she is was a pnuemonia patient and was having a persistent cough in her throat. So, she then went to get drugs in a pharmacy where she was instructed to go for check up and on getting there, all the doctors and nurses attending to her ran away after the unexpected cough came. According to her, before she could know what was going on, her name is already on the internet that she has CoronaVirus. In a short while, she was taken to one of the state isolation centre at Warri General Hospital where ” they abandoned me. I was left all alone with no one around. Sometimes, I would be given too-sugary tea, other times I would go hungry. Even when my mother brings food for me, the doctors will collect the food from my mother and pass the food through one toilet window to me…” She went further to say that she only went to get drugs for an ailment(pneumonia) she has been suffering from and the little cough she is having not  of Covid-19 symptoms… She also pleads for the public to come to her rescue that the trauma is too much for her to contain saying in her angry voice “I want Gov.Okowa to come and see me in person since he is also a doctor to confirm if I am one and I also want the person that wrote the report to rewrite it again that I am not a Covid-19 patient… I want to go home, I want to gain my freedom” she said

Mr. Fred Latimore, The Executive Assistant on Communication to Gov. Okowa while speaking to news men on this matter says ” nobody is in charge of Covid-19 testing not even the state governor ” adding that “ones the blood sample is taking, NCDC takes over the rest processes” going further to say that  accusation should be distance from the Delta State Government.

Kyari’s wife has come out earlier today in Abuja to ask the Presidency of the body of her late husband.

Remember, few days after Femi Adesina announces the death of Abba Kyari who died of Covid-19 after testing positive in which the burial ceremony was done the same day the death announcement was made in accordance with the Muslim culture after conveying the remains from Lagos to Abuja where the family and members of the presidency welcome it and amidst all odds disregarding the social distance rule order given by Pres.Buhari, the remains was successfully laid to rest at Gudu Commentary Abuja.

It would be recalled that at the same day of this burial ceremony, we reported 12 HIDDEN FACTs behind the death and the burial that Nigerians are not aware of. Speculations went round that Kyari had died some days ago prior to the day the announcement was made. Other speculations went round to say the body buried was a clone body which was actually not the remain of Kyari. Other speculations also went round to say the presidency did not give the immediate family oppotunity to see the body of their father before it was laid to rest…
