A sad Tuesday it was for indigenes of Upper-Iweka in Onitsha of Anambra State after a truck full of loads ran into 2 tricycles and a bus at about 2:00pm, living 6 persons dead at the scene while others hospitalised.
According to an eyewitness at the scene who pleads anonymity, the truck loaded with cartons of materials might have had a break-failure, leading to its uncontrollable speed as it drafts into the opposite lane resulting into the massive casualties
While speaking about the incident, the Anambra State Government through the Commissioner of Works and Transport has decided to take full responsibility of the bills incurred from hospital where victims are currently receiving treatment.
Expressing his condolences on behalf of the state governor to the family of those who lost their loved ones to the unfortunate incident, the commissioner said “God shall grant them the fortitude to bare the loss”
