The Inspector General of Police, M.A Adamu has on Friday ordered a clampdown on the perpetrators of Isanlu police station attack and the Bank robbery in Yagba Area of Kogi State which happened at the noon hours of Thursday.
In a public briefing at the early hours of Friday after condemning the sad occurrence, IGP Adamu disclosed that a team of crack detectives from the Intelligence Response Team(IRT), Special Tactical Squad (STS) and Federal-SARS(FSARS) has been deployed to Kogi State to ensure the apprehension of the hoodlums.
While reviewing the security set-up and structure, the IGP directed AIG of Police in charge of Zone 8 Police Headquarters Lokoja to check the security level so as to prevent future occurrences in Kogi State and its environs. He further added that the “AIG is to personally oversee the ongoing investigations into the attack and coordinate intelligence that will lead to unearthing the where about of the hoodlums and the circumstances surrounding the sad incident”
In his closing remark, condolences were uttered to the families of police officers and other persons who lost their lives during the operations of the criminals while calling on indigenes of Isanlu community and kogi state to be at peace.
He further urge anyone with useful information for speedy arrest of the perpetrators to come up with it.
Recall that about eight(8) police officers were killed at Isanlu police station by same criminals who robbed a commercial bank in Yagba area of Kogi state while also killing passersby along the way on Thursday.
