Pst. Enoch Adeboye has on Sunday urged everyone to be calm as he promised to work with relevant authorities to bring to book the Perpetrators of Uwa’s rape
Reacting to the news occupying the public space, Pst. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeem Christian Church of God in a statement he released on twitter reads
” All I can do at this time is to pray for the family of Omozuwa and do everything possible working with relevant authorities to bring the perpetrators to book” adding that “I and members of my family condemn this act strongly and urge everyone to stay calm as we are already looking into the matter and cooperate with the police to establish the fact of the shocking incident”
Remember, the 22 years old Miss Vera Uwaila Omozuwa is a student of University of Benin (UNIBEN) who went into a church (RCCG, Edo Province 10, Ikpoba Hill in Benin City) to read on Wednesday 27th and was gang raped by some unidentified young men who beat her with dangerous weapons leaving her with bruces all over her body most especially her head, face and hands.
Though, the culprits are yet to be arrested but statement released by the Edo State Governor, Gov. Godwin Obaseki shows that directives for thorough nvestigations and due arrest have been issued.
