The People Democratic Party(PDP) has in a statement on Saturday issued a 48hrs ultimatum to Federal Government to immediately come out with truth on the where about of the Chinese doctors.
Mr. Ehanire while responding to questions at the daily PTF on Covid-19 briefing on Thursday said the medical personnels “are not the guest of the federal government but CCECC, a construction company” adding that he would be glad if such related question is not thrown to him again.
This response has triggered a lot of contradictory concerns and thoughts in the heart of almost all Nigerians.
Reacting to this, the PDP in a statement described it as “suspicious, creepy and weird” adding that ” the minister who had repeatedly assured that the Chinese team were brought to render medical services and trainings; and even went personally to receive them at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on April 8, 2020 with an elaborate publicized event can no longer account for the team”.
Adding that ” the APC vehemently defended the invitation of the Chinese team and offered full state protocol upon arrival, only to now turn around to disclaim the supposed experts”.
Giving instances, the party said report has it that countries under visitation by Chinese personnels for the purpose of curbing Covid-19 have always experienced escalation of increased cases which Nigeria is also not exempted, adding that Nigeria had 254 cases with 44 successfully treated and 6 deaths, but since the arrival of the Chinese doctors, Nigeria cases are now over 5,450 with over 171 death recorded.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) finally stated that “our party therefore insists that the PTF on Covid-19 should immediately come out with the truth and provide explanations on the whereabouts of the team in the next 48 hours so as to douse the tension in the country”
