The 46 year old top player who joined super eagle team as U-23 in 1995 has come out to give reasons why he couldn’t get the Olympic Gold Medal around his neck.
Kennedy Boboye who is currently the Head Coach and Manager of Akwa United F.C reveals this hidden secret in his media handle saying ” I played in all d qualifiers for 1996 Olympic except d last game cos of car accident injuries” while narrating his regret says ” I didn’t recover on time to make d squad to Atlanta & that ruled me out of having an Olympic Gold Medal around my neck.” He went further to say “That’s my biggest regret ever”
It would be recalled that after his national team appearance, Kennedy was signed to Saint-Denis Saint-Leu Fc, Paris between 1996 and 1997. He also signed to Furtuna Dusseldorf FC in 1997 to 1998 and he last played for Dolphins FC in 2004.
Apart from been a player, Mr. Kennedy has gotten numerous appointment in coaching and managing some football clubs ranging from Sunshine Queens FC from 2013- 2014, Sunshine Stars FC from 2014-2015, Abia Warriors FC from 2015-2016,
He has also managed and coached Plateau United FC from 2016-2018, Remo Stars FC from 2018-2019 and currently the Chief Coach and Manager of the Professional Nigeria League Akwa United FC
